Batteries 225 Amp/Hrs
Well I have found the battery or batteries for my needs. Since I added the new tongue box, I found an easy way to fill it. I use to have an LP bottle and a 12v battery. Now it holds two 6v batteries and an LP bottle. The Lp tank is now fiberglass and 1/3 the weight of the metal tank, and I can see the continence. The two Trojan # 105, 6v, 225 amp/hr deep cycle batteries are connected in series to make 12v. Plenty of power to go primitive.
In the pic I have used an old battery box top and bottom to cover the battery tops. [don't want any unnecessary sparkin] The bottom pic is of the 12v shut off nob next to the 12v breaker. Click on photo to enlarge.

Outside The Tab

These can barely be called mods. It's more like adding or switching out.
In the top pic is the added porch light. My Taxitab didn't come with one, and I didn't like the plastic ones the RV stores offer, so I purchased a 1972 Chevy pickup Cargo light. It's made of pot metal, or zinc metal. Has a real thick acrylic lens. It works great. Also note the SS screen room snaps. The fibreglass Tabs don't come with the same rail system to attach a screen room, as do there aluminum sisters.
The bottom photo shows a few things. One is the Maxe Vent cover. You can leave the vent open all the time, and no rain to worry about. Click on photo to enlarge, and you will see the new chrome marker lights, the City Water, and tank fill spouts, and a problem that all Tabs have is fixed with the hood trim over the Heater Exhaust vent. It keeps rain water from entering the two piece exhaust vent. [if you check you will find water stains on the inside around that vent]
Oh! I almost forgot. Covering the sunny side wheel to keep it from sun rot, is a snow saucer painted green[ used to be florescent pink] Hey it works !

Nic Nak Shelf
Here I added an extra shelf for odds and ends. It's 12"wide x 3/4"thick white pine, with oak galley rail and end mounting cleats. I used 1" molly fasteners to anchor it to the side walls, and an oak cleat to fasten it to the back bottom shelf. The bottom shelf will have three sliding doors. [ my last mod]

A Few Gadgets
We got rid of the heavy table that came with the Tab It was about 25 lbs. Now we use two lite tray tables, held in place with a nylon strap. Note in the photo the black battery minder. It with the push of a button, tells me how the charging system is doing.
Under the light is a motion alarm siren. Under the green rug at the bottom of photo is the porta potty.
